This month’s garden club meeting was your basic gab-fest 🙂 We had a pretty short meeting followed by a wonderfully long coffee break where we caught up on what’s been going on since our Christmas lunch.
We all want to thank Sue for stepping up to be our new president. We’re standing right behind her to keep this club the fun, social club it has always been.
There’s frenetic activity going on as I type this to arrange the year’s guest speakers. As they are confirmed, they’ll be added to the Upcoming Meetings tab. One we already have well in hand is the April 7th meeting which will be an open session as part of the library’s calendar of events. We’ll have free plants for each visitor, lots more for sale, a goodies table with produce from club members for sale (things like vegetables and fruit from the garden, honey, homemade soap, rosewater and who knows what else). We’ve also scored a horticulturalist who will field questions from the public and a club member to demonstrate plant propagation (with kits for sale on the day). All club members are encouraged to come along, bring your questions for the horticulturalist and your smiling faces. If the meeting doesn’t sound quite exciting enough to lure you, or regular afternoon tea will be available for the entire meeting – who could say no to that?
Watch this space for information about all our meetings – it’s going to be a great year!
Our next meeting is on March 3rd where a guest speaker will talk about Eco Garden Products.
Don’t forget to check out the gardening column in the Hills to Hawkesbury Living Magazine. It appears in every issue and features information about the goings on in this club. The magazine won’t be taking a summer break so you can keep up your gardening fix by reading the articles.
