Pressed Flower Designs

IMG_6401Susan Lewis of Pressed Flower Designs talked to the club about her journey to becoming a pressed flower fanatic. What started out as a hobby became a passion and then a business (Pressed Flower Designs). When she explained how in her early days it took her 6-8 weeks to press fresh flowers but now she can do it in 1 minute (with the aid of a fantastic Microfleur Microwave Flower Press and a normal domestic microwave) she had us hooked. To prove her point she pressed some flowers she’d brought from her garden and passed them around to show us how easy it was. IMG_6397 IMG_6400 She then proceeded to show us the kinds of things she made with her pressed flowers: everything from gift cards to jewellery. IMG_6403 It was both an interesting and inspiring talk. Several people went home with their very own microwave flower press so I think we might see some examples of pressed flowers done by our club members soon.
