It’s been a busy summer for the gardeners in our garden club. We had our Christmas lunch then our summer break which, if they were like me, most gardeners used to battle the weeds that loved the rains we received.
We had a few hot days but nothing like the heat and dry of last year and I think all our gardens (and those darned weeds) were happy for it.
In February we reconvened for our first meeting of 2015. Dianne Edwards gave a great talk on herbs. The best part was she brought dozens of herbs which made pretty fantastic props for a gardening club show and tell. Di was recruited as a late fill in and we all want to thank her for the afternoon.
March was our annual “bring one, take one” where members brought something garden related to go into a lottery-type swap.
Things are now settling down into a more normal regime with autumn allowing us to get out in our gardens without the fear of heat stroke.
