Leif Rosengaard – Story of Mt Tomah Botanic Garden

IMG_6207-001This month’s meeting was one that made us all restless to head up into the mountains. Leif Rosengaard, who worked for years at Mount Tomah Botanic Garden, explained to us the history of the gardens plus whetted our appetite with some of the big changes in the works.TomahWayfindingMap2010

After taking us on a virtual tour of the grounds and explaining what we could expect to see now and in the near future, he spent a few minutes talking to us about his beautiful Wollemi Pine bonsais. More than one club member picked his brain for how he managed to keep such beautiful specimens not just surviving but thriving.

I think it’s safe to say Leif has a wealth of knowledge and we hope he’ll be generous enough to share more with us in the future. Thank you Leif.
