Macquarie Towns Garden Club

Welcome to the first post of the Macquarie Towns Garden Club. This is where information about what’s been going on at the club will be posted. We meet monthly (with the odd club outing thrown in) so there will probably be one post a month.

Recent meetings have included:

IMG_4603-001September: Eric Jordan Talked about Clivias. Eric came prepared with books, print outs, several samples of plants and a treasure trove of knowledge about these well-loved garden plants. We learned a bit about the different varieties, propagation, pest control and – the best news of all – that it’s almost impossible to kill the things. What’s not to love about a plant like that?

IMG_4858August: Rebecca Wickman of Millers’ Garden Centre talked about perennials and came with samples for a show and tell. This meeting was followed by the AGM.

July – 5th Thursday: Visit to the Hawkesbury EarthCare Centre where we learned about sustainable building techniques and had time to wander the garden full of goodies, all grown using organic principles.

Check out our upcoming meetings tab for information on what to expect in the next few months.
